Ennemaborg in Midwolda is a historic estate that took on its current form in the seventeenth and eighteenth centuries, although its origins date back as far as the 1300s. One of its most striking features is the impressive tree-lined driveway, which was originally connected to the manor. Although most of it no longer links directly to the borg, it remains clearly visible. From the beginning of the lane, the borg appears as just a dot on the horizon — a classic symbol of status and prestige in earlier times.

The garden surrounding Ennemaborg was once known as a "productive garden" — designed to be both beautiful and useful. It included fruit trees and a vegetable garden to supply food. While this function is now part of history, the straight rows of trees still reflect the garden’s practical past.

Although the manor itself is not open to the public, the surrounding park, designed in an eighteenth-century baroque style, is free to visit. A walk through this atmospheric landscape offers a unique glimpse into Groningen's heritage and is well worth the trip.
