De Rieshoek in Noordlaren, old primary school now a meeting place and daycare
De Rieshoek. A well-known meeting place is this old primary school called De Rieshoek in Noordlaren (in use until 2014). Here, village gatherings, gym classes, and other activities are organized. There is also a daycare in the rear part of the building.

De Hoeksteen in Noordlaren, a cultural and social hub
De Hoeksteen is the village hall where various fun activities take place, such as movie nights, kids' club, card games like klaverjassen and bridge, pilates, book clubs, exhibitions, and also the venue for the Sinterklaas celebration and New Year's gathering. There are three rooms available for rent in the building.

The Bartholomeuskerk in Noordlaren, a beautiful wedding venue
Officially a wedding venue of the municipality of Groningen, but also, every second Sunday, there is a church service by the Protestant Church of Noordlaren - Glimmen. Additionally, you can rent the Bartholomeuskerk for funerals, concerts, and other occasions. The church is owned by Stichting Oude Groninger Kerken.
Noordlaren Cemetery as a municipal monument
The cemetery in Noordlaren is a municipal monument and is beautifully located on the Noordlaarder Es. Stichting Landschapsbeheer Groningen has worked with volunteers, donors, and descendants to ensure a beautiful restoration. The cemetery is also well maintained every year with a leaf clearing day in the spring and in December.

The Ice Rink of Noordlaren
Since 1997, there has been a roller skating and ice rink in Noordlaren, right next to the cemetery. In summer, you can enjoy roller skating, but in winter, the rink is prepared as a natural ice rink. With its impressive length of 333.33 meters, you can enjoy a long round! There's also a kiddie rink for children. The ice rink is managed by IJsvereniging de Hondsrug Noordlaren, which was established on November 26, 1964. If you live in Noordlaren and are a member, you can skate for free on natural ice in Noordlaren. People from outside Noordlaren can also enjoy free access through donations.
Easter Fire Noordlaren
Last year, the tradition was broken because the village council had stopped, but this year, a permit has been granted for an Easter fire at the Kerkduinen in Noordlaren. In 2023, there were still 300 visitors.
