What is the Groningen Culture Award
The Groningen Culture Award is given to a Groningen individual, group, or institution that has made a significant contribution to the development or visibility of art and culture in the province of Groningen. There are the Groningen Talent Award, the Groningen Culture Award for Amateur Art, and the Groningen Culture Award. The Province of Groningen and the Culture Fund Groningen organized this third edition. The award specifically targets professionals. This year's jury consisted of Maria Koijck, Jan-Gerd Krüger, Mohamed Yusuf Boss, Renée Luth, and Cissy Joan (who won the Groningen Talent Award in 2023). The event will be held again in 2026. Read more about it here.
Groningen Talent Award
The Groningen Talent Award is intended for a talent or talented group from Groningen, aiming to encourage them to further develop their skills and become visible outside the province. Both professionals and amateurs are eligible.
Groningen Culture Award for Amateur Art
This award goes to an amateur artist or association that has made an exceptional achievement in the past year. Candidates do not engage in art and culture professionally. The jury report contains an extensive explanation from the jury.
