Opening Weekend: The Ring is Complete

In early September 2024, Ring South Approach and Combination Herepoort will fully open the newly renovated southern ring road of Groningen. To celebrate this, Groningen is organizing various activities during the last weekend before the opening.

RingFestival

Location: Martiniplaza
Date: August 30 (10:00-19:00) and August 31 (10:00-16:00)
Discover how the new ring road was built, view machines and materials, and participate in activities for all ages.

RingCongress

Date: August 30
Professionals and interested parties can share knowledge and experiences about the construction of the ring road. Host: Janine Abbring.

RingWalk

Date: August 31 (10:00-16:00)
Walk through the lowered section and across the Julianaplein before the road opens to vehicle traffic.

RingConcert

Date: August 31 (20:00-23:00)
Location: Martiniplaza
Special concert by the North Netherlands Orchestra for local residents.

RingReunion

Date: August 30 (20:00-01:00)
Reunion for current and former employees of the project.
