Hofje van Harkstede

The Hofje van Harkstede is a pick-your-own garden featuring flowers, herbs, small fruits, and an orchard. The garden produces so much that it's too much for us alone. We initially started with a roadside stall for sales. From there, we often received requests to participate in fairs. At first, we only sold jams, chutneys, and syrups, but soon flowers and floral decorations were added. We no longer attend fairs; instead, people visit us in the pick-your-own garden and garden shop to collect the beauty and delights of Groningen soil. We are open every Saturday from 11:00 AM to 5:00 PM from April to the end of October.

The Products

The demand for our products beyond the fairs continued to grow, which is why we decided to launch an online store. Not only do people from the region have the opportunity to enjoy our delicacies, but those living farther away can also order from the webshop. If you love pure nature and exciting jams, you can have them delivered to your home or send them as a gift. In addition to jams, we also make various syrupy syrups, flavorful chutneys, fragrant herbal teas, and we bake a variety of goods. We also send tulips and dried flowers by mail.

Pure

Know what you eat. We do not use artificial fertilizers or chemical pesticides in the pick-your-own garden. We want you to enjoy all the pure products grown on Groningen soil, which are processed by us in an artisanal manner into traditional and original treats. Since we work on a small scale and seasonally, our stock is limited, making our products exclusive.

The selection of flowers is seasonal. For example, we have beautiful Christmas greenery in winter, but we do not have roses for Valentine's Day. We are increasingly focusing on offering a wide range of dried flowers in the winter months so that we can provide unsprayed flowers year-round.
