Rapalje Summer Folk is an annual festival held in Groningen’s Stadspark, usually during the first weekend of June. The festival offers a vibrant mix of folk music performances, workshops, storytelling, reenactments, and dance activities. Attendees can enjoy live performances by local and international bands, a spectacular fire show, and fun activities like sword fighting, archery, and Highland games for kids. There’s also a wide variety of food and drink options, as well as an extensive market selling unique clothing, jewelry, and musical instruments. Organized by the Dutch folk band Rapalje, the festival promotes a laid-back atmosphere, encouraging everyone to “Be Easy and Free.”
