Celebrate King's Day in Haren!

The day starts in the center with the busy flea market, where both young and old gather. From 4:00 PM, the party continues in front of the Dorpskerk with a bar, food trucks, a DJ, and lots of fun! Celebrations for the birthday of His Majesty the King

Note: Since the King's birthday falls on a Sunday this year, King's Day will be celebrated on Saturday, April 26th.

April 20th - 27th, 2025:

Swing, sway, and spin at the funfair in the center of Haren.

To increase the festive joy, we kindly ask you to fly the Dutch flag with an orange pennant!

10:00 - 10:15 AM:

Festive bell ringing from the tower of the Dorpskerk (village church).

10:30 AM:

Opening of King's Day 2025 on the square in front of the Dorpskerk in Haren. Speeches by a member of the College of Mayor and Aldermen of the municipality of Groningen and the chairperson of the Harense Oranjevereniging, followed by the raising of the flag with the orange pennant and the singing of two verses of the Wilhelmus. We will enjoy a delicious orange treat together.

Following this, the prize-giving ceremony for the coloring competition will take place.

11:00 AM - 5:00 PM:

Children's flea market in the center of Haren. Participation is free. No reservations can be made; first come, first served! Participants are kindly asked to take unsold items back home.

11:00 AM - 5:00 PM:

The center of Haren will be enlivened by various Disney characters, while the brass band 't Is Ook Niks boosts the festive spirit and the steel band “Pan Magic” will bring a Caribbean atmosphere to the flea market visitors.

Internationally renowned balloon artist Jos Tipker will showcase his skills and combine it with a healthy dose of humor.

10:30 AM - 5:00 PM:

Show by the Streetrod Car Club on the closed-off Rijksstraatweg. The Streetrod Car Club is a car club for owners of classic American cars.
