When is the Blikopener Festival?

On June 7th and 8th 2024, you can go to the Suikerfabriek for this unique festival. The Blikopener festival will showcase a surprising combination of dance, theater, literature, and visual arts to demonstrate how society can be organized differently.

Blikopener Festival Symposium 

You can also attend the symposium on Friday, June 7th 2024, from 3:00 PM to 6:30 PM. The themes of this symposium include mental health among young people, growing inequality, personal experiences of public spaces, prejudices and "thinking in boxes," and broken connections between the city and the countryside. There is also a follow-up session on June 27th.  

Chef Annemiek van der Meijden will provide a delicious dinner. The price for the symposium is €40.

You determine the entrance fee for the Blikopener Festival

That it's a special festival is evident because you decide what you can pay as an entrance fee. You choose an amount between 5 and 40 euros, depending on your budget. To pay everyone involved, an average amount of 15 euros needs to be collected.
It certainly piques my curiosity!

What can you expect from the Blikopener Festival?

One of the programs is 'Van de Bank ' and focuses on the role of the Voedselbank and the KledingBank the Zeecontainer. There are four other 'co-creations' that will stimulate you! Well-known names shaping the Festival include Suze Ijó, Promario, DeMensplek Karavaan, DesignArbeid, Coco Invites, and the installations Wie zijn Wij?, Verhalen met Zorg, and Who owns the economy?

The Blikopener festival consists of a movement of people, organizations, and artists who together wish for a fairer world. They draw attention to what is going wrong, and the inspiring art projects will show what possible solutions are.
