Superbaby is sent to Earth from planet Krypton by his father Jor-El (Marlon Brando, who reportedly received three million dollars for this role of a few minutes), where he grows up to eventually help prevent a whole series of calamities as Superman. The big surprise at the time was lead actor Christopher Reeve, who was considered perfect for the role with his open face and muscular body. Gene Hackman is a magnificent Lex Luthor.
