Olivia (Sophie Lindner) and her mother (Thekla Reuten) have a stubborn bond: intense, unpredictable, but inseparable. After a heated confrontation, Olivia is removed from her home and ends up in emergency shelter. There she encounters other young people who, like her, carry their wounds with them, and gradually this new living situation tilts her perspective. Every time she goes home, she sees that her mother is not an average parent, but an erratic, destructive influence - a friend you'd rather not have.
