Impressions of Hullabaloo 2025

For two full days, the Stadspark was transformed into a musical playground: buzzing vibes, food trucks everywhere, and music pulling you from one stage to the next. We kicked things off with the Bankzitters – a huge hit with the younger crowd. One moment we were singing along with Racoon, the next we were dancing to the songs of Roxy Dekker. And the energy of The Script was pure nostalgia. Our personal favorite? We’ll get to that shortly!

The Hullabaloo 2025 line-up perfectly reflected what the festival stands for: a mix of international stars, Dutch top acts, and surprising newcomers. There was plenty to enjoy for teenagers, families, and students alike. This makes Hullabaloo unique compared to other festivals in Groningen and the rest of the Netherlands.

The unique atmosphere of Hullabaloo in Groningen

What makes Hullabaloo so special is the diversity of music and people. You’ll find groups of friends, families with teenagers experiencing their first big festival, and students wrapping up their summer with a bang. Everyone seems to have the same goal: good vibes, lots of laughter, and above all enjoying the music. There are also nice workshops for kids, like this drumming class.

Besides the big stages, there were also smaller acts, cheerful bars, and food trucks serving dishes from all over the world. From vegan street food to Dutch snacks – there was something for everyone. And all of this in the green surroundings of the Stadspark in Groningen, the perfect location for a summer festival.

Highlights of Hullabaloo 2025 Groningen

For us, there were several performances that truly stood out. We simply couldn’t stand still!

• Chef’Special had the entire crowd jumping as if we were one big family.
• The Sugababes brought an amazing revival, complete with tight choreography and infectious energy.
• Guus Meeuwis created a massive sing-along moment, as if the whole of Groningen joined in.

The Sugababes were definitely the highlight of the 2025 edition for us. Since then, their music has been on repeat in our office every day!

• Wear comfortable shoes: we walked more than 15,000 steps each day, so comfort is key.
• Bring glitter or festival outfits: the colorful festival style is a big part of the Hullabaloo vibe.

• Prepare for prices: food and drinks are expensive, so make sure to bring a well-filled wallet.
   

Getting to Hullabaloo by bike or public transport

The festival grounds are easy to reach by bike, and extra shuttle buses run from Groningen Central Station. If you’re coming by car, keep in mind that parking is limited, but there is a Kiss & Ride area for drop-off and pick-up.

For us, Hullabaloo is the perfect example of Groningen at its most vibrant. A large festival that still feels intimate. Whether you come with friends, your family, or your student group, there’s something for everyone. International stars and Dutch top acts share the same stage, making the experience truly complete.
