Joost Klein Takes the Stage
Today marked the long-awaited unveiling of Joost Klein's Eurovision song. What's your impression? Will it earn DOUZE POINTS? With his song 'Europapa', Joost aims to conquer the Eurovision Song Contest in Malmö. He presented his song on Thursday during a special afternoon show of De Avondshow with Arjen Lubach.
Back to Sweden
Following Loreen's victory, the 68th edition of the Eurovision Song Contest will take place in Sweden. This marks the seventh time the event will be held in Sweden, which previously hosted it in 2016. Notably, it has been 50 years since ABBA won the contest in England with their iconic hit 'Waterloo' in 1974.
Eurovision Song Contest Dates
The semi-finals are scheduled for Tuesday, May 7, and Thursday, May 9, 2024. Joost Klein will represent the Netherlands (with those northern roots) during these semi-finals, performing 'Europapa'. The top ten countries from each semi-final will advance to the final on Saturday, May 11.
- The 1st semi-final: Tuesday, May 7, 2024, in Malmö
- The 2nd semi-final: Thursday, May 9, 2024 (Ascension Day), in Malmö
- The final: Saturday, May 11, 2024, in Malmö
With the second semi-final falling on Ascension Day, there's a good chance you'll have the day off!
