Autumn Break Activities at Groningen University Museum
Admire bones and skulls, make bath salt in our lab, view exciting specimens under the microscope, and conduct experiments. It can happen again in the autumn holiday! The crafting and experimentation room is back in the museum. In this room, you are the scientist!
The museum is also open on Monday, October 28, this week.
The crafting and experimentation room is open from 10:00 AM to 5:00 PM.
Making Bath Salt
In a real lab coat, you will make your wonderfully scented bath salt, of course with a color. Will you choose apple or perhaps honeysuckle? Blue, red, anything is possible. Come up with your own creative combination.
Microscopy Corner
Are you curious about the nature around you? This is your chance. With microscopes, you will view beautiful animals and plants up close. Nature is even more beautiful and complex than you think! There are also many other objects you can examine under the microscope. Do you have something interesting at home? Feel free to bring it along!
Optical Illusions
Huh, what do I see now? Your brain can sometimes really fool you. And you will see that with us too! A lot of visual deception. Additionally, you will learn to draw your own optical illusion and you can also craft one.
Anatomy Corner
What does the human body look like? Where are our liver and lungs located? In the anatomy corner, you can assemble the body yourself and learn about the functions of our organs.
Bones and Skulls
Learn more about bones and skulls and participate in the quiz. Can you identify which skull belongs to which animal? And what does a herbivore's teeth look like? You will find out in the skull corner.
Practical Information
Admission is free with a valid entry ticket. Children up to 18 years, Museum cardholders, Employees/Students of RUG/UMCG, and Stadjerspas holders have free admission.
Tip: In addition to these fun activities, you can also participate in the museum bingo in the Kaleidoscope exhibition, which showcases the treasures of the museum collection, from a BMW car to dozens of birds, minerals, and stones. Who will be the first to fill their bingo card?
