Family-Friendly Hotels in Groningen with Family Rooms or Family Suites

Groningen has so much to offer families! There’s plenty to do during the school holidays, such as watching great children’s movies at the Cinema at Forum Groningen, or visiting the cartoon museum Storyworld. At Martiniplaza there is often a fun children’s show or musical. In addition, you can frequently book children’s theatre performances at Grand Theatre, the City Theatre or De Oosterpoort. If you prefer more artistic activities, be sure to check out what Kunstpunt has on the program.

The range of hotel stays and other accommodations in the city of Groningen is truly enormous. Families generally prefer a family room where children can stay in the same room as their parents. Most families would rather not book two separate rooms, especially when the children are still young.

Below is a short list of family-friendly hotels in Groningen that offer family rooms, family suites, or even apartments!

- Flonk Hotel Groningen Centre, located along the Radesingel. Within just a few minutes, you can walk via the Gedempte Zuiderdiep to the Herestraat or the Vismarkt. A wonderful family-friendly hotel offering triple rooms and even two-bedroom apartments available during spring break.
- The Happy Traveler offers family-friendly apartments. In fact, on most rooms it’s possible to add an extra bed for an additional fee. How great is that? During spring break, the Family Apartment with Bunk Bed is still available, as well as the One Bedroom Apartment.
- Garde Hotels in Groningen: Hotel Halbert offers family rooms suitable for a family of four. Hotel Corps de Garde has several room types suitable for three guests. Both hotels are located within the city canals of Groningen, and you can walk to the Grote Markt within just a few minutes.
- At Suite 30 in Groningen, you’ll have a spacious apartment entirely to yourself. Lovely, right? It’s about a five-minute walk to the city center. The Noorderplantsoen (with great playgrounds) is just around the corner. If you walk through the beautiful park toward the center, it takes about 10 minutes, and along the way you’ll pass nice spots for lunch or coffee (to go or on the terrace at Paviljoen Zondag). Bringing your dog? No problem!

- Hotel Miss Blanche offers stunning suites, and several of them feature two separate bedrooms. You’ll stay in the A-Kwartier district and can enjoy wonderful walks along the canals with views of the beautiful boats.

By booking through StayinGroningen, you directly support the city of Groningen — we help local talent with your booking! Now that your reservation is complete, you can create a bucket list of everything you’d like to do during spring break in Groningen. Want a broader overview?
